Nathan received a guitar from his Grammy and P.P. for Christmas...and now every morning we receive a private concert at breakfast:) Isaac usually plays backup kazoo (unfortunately I did not get any photos of Isaac on kazoo) Nathan has worn blisters on his fingers from strumming and refusing to use a pick!

Our Baby Girl turns ONE!

Kate, our little baby girl, is now one year old! My heart always feels bittersweet when one of our children turns one because it is a mild relief of surviving the bitty baby phase :) and it is also the beginning of the toddler phase :0 All of it is priceless and always leaves Brent and I feeling blessed and honored to be entrusted with these beautiful lives.

Kate had a pink princess party with lots of pink, balloons and cake...it was kind of a birthday week with lots of little celebrations and here are some photos of the little party at our house with our family.

Nathan's 4th Birthday!

We had a small party for Nathan this year...just a few friends and family at our home to celebrate 4 years with our AMAZING little boy. Nathan is truly a gift from God. I see a lot of myself in him (which scares me hehe) and it is so fun and such a blessing to be able to watch him grow and mature. Happy Birthday Nathan!

April Update

In April...

We attempted to tag along with Daddy on a work trip to St. Simon's Island...the idea of going along on a work trip works when you have one child or even two...but after this trip we learned it is almost IMPOSSIBLE to "tag along" when you have 3 kids 3yrs. and under...

We went to the mall to see the Bunny and rode the train too (the photo with the bunny is not worth posting...DISASTER )...
An Easter Party in Nathan's class...

EGG HUNT (Thanks to cousin Adam, Abbey and Ava for the invite...your church had a much more convenient time for an egg hunt that day).

2010 So Far

Alright, after many comments on my lack of blog updates... one last time...a renewed commitment to updating the ole blog! So Here goes...here's the year so far...

In January...

Kate's Personality REALLY started to come out...

Nathan started his daily chores (he's a HUGE help)...

It snowed a couple of times...

Kate was stuck inside during most of the snow days snuggled up with mama:)

In February...

We had fun at Nathan's preschool Valentine's Day Party...
And we went to the CIRCUS! We went with Meme, BobBob and Grammy...we had a suite and the kids LOVED it like always!!

In March...

We passed the time by taking some photos for the scrapbook (we were starting to feel pent up from the LONG winter)...
We celebrated "P.P.'s" Birthday...

And AMY AND JEFF GOT ENGAGED!!

Christmas Eve at Grammy and Grampy's House

We spent Christmas Eve opening gifts at Grammy and Grampy's house. Nathan received an awesome tool bench and Isaac a big bag of stickers and all other types of activities (among other gifts). Kate's wardrobe is now stacked thanks to Aunt Amy and Grammy. We had a whole lot of fun!!

A Little Christmas Shindig

Brent and I made it out of the house (without the kids) to attend his office Christmas party...we had lots of fun (as much fun as you typically have at an office Christmas party) and are thankful to have the help of Grammy and Grampy to watch the kiddos!

Isaac's Birthday was pretty low key this year. We all went to PLAY in Roswell, GA for a morning of running around and then had lunch at a little restaurant near by. Isaac also got to enjoy some cake (given by Nana) and gifts from Grammy, Grampy, Nana, Papa, Mommy and Daddy and lots of other friends and family. Happy Birthday Isaac!

Thanksgiving

We spent Thanksgiving Day this year with Mommy's side of the family. We had a great big Thanksgiving lunch at Uncle Mike and Aunt Phyllis' house. The afternoon was filled with lots of playtime, snacking and catching up with family.

O.k. its been a few months...but here goes the update. In September we went to the beach with Grammy and Gramppy, Amy and Jeff (or Jeppa as he has been affectionately nicknamed) We had an awesome time!! Isaac and Nathan loved playing on the beach and Kate decided it was the perfect place to nap:)

A Visit From The Popiels and The Zoo!!

We had the chance to visit with our cousins when the Popiels came to town for a few days. We had a slumber party with Nate, Noah and Michelle and we also got the chance to go to the zoo and have a big family BBQ!! We had lots and lots of fun...it was great to see everyone!

Kate at Two Months

Kate recently had her 2 month well visit with her pediatrician to be weighed and measured. She weighed 13lbs. and was 25in. long!! She is growing and changing so quick. She is the best baby a mommy could ask for...we are so blessed!

The 4th of July and BobBob's Birthday Celebration

We spent the 4th celebrating traditional patriotic festivities and also celebrating our Grandfather's (Nathan, Isaac and Kate's great-grandfather) birthday at our Aunt and Uncle's lake house. We all had a blast and truly appreciate Donna and Mike's hospitality!!

Germany

A few weeks after Kate was born Brent had a couple of work trips he had to leave town for...one was a conference at Jekyll Island for a week and then one in Germany. Thanks to a lot of prayers and the amazing help of my parents...I made it through a rough couple of weeks (husbandless with a newborn, 18 month old and a 3 year old). Here are a couple pics of Brent's trip to Germany.

Kathryn "Kate" Virginia Henson

Finally! Kate has made her arrival. Brent and I welcomed a precious baby girl on May the 7th at 6:58pm. The labor was pretty quick (we checked in to the hospital at 3:45pm) and the delivery (we decided on a water birth this time) went very smooth. She weighed in at 7.9 oz and measured 19.5 in. long. Recovering has taken a little longer, but I know God has amazing plans for our little family and we will be up and about very soon. Thanks to all for your thoughts and prayers.

Another Day Playing In The Sun

Thank goodness for spring! The boys have played outside every day this week...while mommy tries to not go crazy waiting for the baby to arrive. They love chasing each other, playing in the dirt and wearing their new Lightning McQueen boots Grammy got for them (even though they are quite warm).

Swelling With Anticipation...And Pretty Much Just Swelling!

I am now one day away from my first due date and eight days away from my second due date! I have had regular contractions for a couple of weeks now and also have had some additional physical changes that would indicate a baby should be arriving any day! I am happy to have the time I have to spend with the boys and Brent before we add another member to our family, and I am trying to keep a joyful spirit and not be such a grump:)

Crazy Curls!

Isaac has noticeably blonde hair which now has become even more curly!! I had lighter hair as a child (even light blonde a couple of summers) and Brent's nephew and brother had blonde hair as small kids...but we have NO idea where these curls came from! I love the curls and hope they are here to stay.

He is artistic... it runs in the family.

Nathan received an easel for his birthday a couple of weeks ago. Needless to say we have already used half our paints up! He loves to paint on it in the afternoon while Isaac is still napping and mommy makes dinner.

Boys and Their Toys

Nathan and Isaac helped Brent wash his truck this week. While Brent did most of the scrubbing, the boys loved soaking each other with the hose!! The weather has been so warm and nice we couldn't resist.

We recently celebrated Nathan's 3rd Birthday at our home with a great little petting zoo: The Little Red Barn. Aunt Amy created a great Happy Birthday banner to better set the farm like atmosphere...Thanks Amy! Nathan also enjoyed cupcakes and a birthday song at preschool and dinner with Grammy and Grampy to additionally celebrate the big 3!! He loves all of his gifts and had an amazing time enjoying friends and family on his special day.

Spring is here...let the Easter traditions begin!

We made our usual trip to the local mall this week to have our picture taken with the one and only Easter Bunny! Isaac hated him and cried most of the time...Nathan sat on his lap and forced a grin primarily because I bribed him with a ride on the train afterwords. The boys loved the train and their lunch at Chick-fil-A. We are looking forward to hunting eggs and Easter service at church this Sunday!

We spent St. Patty's Day at a special St. Patty's Day story time sporting a couple of sweet green t's!! Isaac was about to take his nap when I tried to get a good picture of the boys in their t's...needless to say he was a little cranky.

The Circus!!

In mid February we got a chance to go to the circus with Grammy and Grampie. The boys had a blast!! Nathan watched most of the show and enjoyed a snow cone...Isaac tuckered out torward the end and fell asleep in Grammy's arms.

O.k. Time for another game of catch up:) We had an awesome Christmas this year. We have not stopped playing with the amazing train table BobBob, our great-grandfather/ grandfather, made and Brent assembled (the train tack portion). The boys have had a great time with it!!

Shout Out To Our New Cuz!!

We have a new cousin!! Congrats to Abbey and Adam, my (Lisa) first cousins, welcomed a baby girl into the world just before the new year. She came a little early....o.k. a lot early but she is doing amazing!! Please keep them in your prayers...most of us know the love of a child and we want little Ava to be home with Mom and Dad SOON!!

Everything looks great with our baby on the way! We were also able to find out we are having a GIRL!! As you can see in the ultrasound she is not shy:) It seems weird to know the gender already, but I am glad we do as we have a lot of blue to trade out for pink!!

Recently, I met some close friends for lunch to catch up. We brought along all of our little boys. It is funny...we have all had boys and not one girl yet!

Yes folks, we are adding to the clan. We are expecting baby number three due on May 3, 2009. So far everything has been great with the pregnancy...I was a little sick at first and now I am measuring a couple weeks ahead of where my due date puts me. No cause for alarm...just maybe an ultrasound. Ultrasound is not a practice we usually partake in...measuring irregularly is an approved reason for an ultrasound according to the FDA- so we will find out in a couple of weeks how the baby and my big belly are doing!!

Isaac's 1st Birthday

Isaac is now one year old. We celebrated on the 1st of November (even though his birthday is on the 3rd). We had a small gathering of friends and family at our house with lots of fun, cake and ice cream. Isaac received many generous gifts and great play time with so many we love and cherish!

I am going to play a little bit of catch up seeing as it has been months since I have last updated our blog:( One day when I am not pregnant, with a smaller house and less human beings depending on me every min of everyday... I will look back on these times and miss them and I will have more time to BLOG:)

Let's see I will pick up with Halloween. Nathan dressed up as a lion and Isaac the chicken (Nathan's costume from last year...I guess hand me downs are inevitable). We had a blast at our church's Fall Festival (Burnt Hickory Baptist). Grammy and Grampy came along and the evening was filled with "bounce houses", hotdogs and candy.

Nathan Starts Preschool

Nathan is starting Preschool this year. He is thrilled!! We went to visit his class, and he got a chance to meet some of his classmates, check out the toys and even use the "little potty". He was also given his very own red "book bag". He is only attending a couple of days a week...but this is HUGE for him and we are excited about it!!

Isaac is Pulling Up to Stand!!

Yesterday...Isaac pulled up and stood alone!! He has been standing in his crib for a couple of weeks now, but he has yet to do it on his own outside of his crib. He was crawling around the living room and pulled up on a table and squealed with excitement!! Yey for Isaac...A Very Big Boy!!
